It is Wednesday, my dudes. We had a bunch of sales to look through last week and this week, we're being a little more choosey. I'm also seeing some pieces that I believe are going to go faaaast so we will enjoy the pics and add them to our moodboards for the future, just in case we can't snag them ourselves. This weekend in particular I'm seeing some items that require a little love and light before they would resemble some of the other well-loved pieces in your home - and I kind of love this challenge. Pots can be scrubbed, linens can be soaked, every vintage item has a specific way of cleaning it but on the other side of researching proper cleaning and care, is the skillset of curation, customization, and conservation. And trust me, I'm googling it all alongside you. Anyways, this is a long way of saying: don't let a fabric color or a layer of dust scare you from a good-quality item (especially one that's already in your home). |

The Call-Out Section This Linwood sale description reads like a used car salesman wrote it, but I am here for it. It's a picker's paradise in a massive barn. They're encouraging you to drive fast but I think you could swing through any day and have a good time. Cash only! (Wed - Sat) Go for the art, stick around if you see something you like in furniture. Also of note at this OP sale: so much physical media, some sassy chairs, and even sassier cocktail glasses. (Thurs - Sat) This Liberty sale is normally something I would skip because the overall vibe leans traditional but there are these little pockets in every room of pieces that are beautiful and hard to find: this set of silver + abalone shell goblets, this faux tablecloth-crafted table (I've been dying to see one of these in person!), these twisty, sculptural candlestick holders, along with wall art, multi-media art pieces, and more fun pieces that really surprised me! (Thurs - Sat) Dwain Smith Antiques would like you to know they're doing weekly shopping hours now instead of one-day sales. Open Mon, Wed + Fri!
If you've been itching to walk around an interesting home, let me introduce you to this Leawood sale! We have mid-century holiday decor, we have vintage aircraft parts, we have tonssss of vintage books, petrified tree stumps, twisty carved furniture pieces, a couple of stained glass light fixtures, and I guess a picture of a mammoth?? (Fri - Sun) Kathy Kaul is hocking more of her gorgeous furniture and home decor goods with my favorites being: the butter yellow KitchenAid and these green patio chairs! (Fri - Sat) West Plaza has a lesson in reusing, recycling, and refreshing for everyone. The crafters and sewers should have their eyes on the vintage fabric, but and also the tablecloths and embroidered pillowcases that can be turned into just about anything. There's also vintage clothes + accessories, vintage holiday decor, and good quality pots and pans! (Fri - Sun)
